Our history:
100 years of Swiss precision gearboxes
Our history is not nostalgia, it is the foundation for how we work today.
Johan Sebastian Kienast establishes Kienast & Co, ACBAR Company Zurich, to develop and manufacture a new gearbox system.
The gearbox name: ACBAR eccentric gearbox.
Relocation to Lachen / Altendorf marks an important milestone in company development.
Engineer Erwin J. Kaufmann founds AKIM AG. The two-disc gearbox is developed — followed by further custom designs.
AKIM AG acquires ACBAR as part of a succession solution and relocates to Lachen.
AKIM now possesses a strong production facility, skilled staff and an established gearbox program.
With two-disc eccentric gearboxes, new application areas are opened.
A new servo gearbox series with adjustable backlash is developed — highly successful and soon a core product.
Based on 2S-R84 experience, the 2S-R90 series is created — meeting modern drive technology requirements.
The Kaufmann family takes 100% ownership.
Erwin J. Kaufmann hands management to his son Thomas Kaufmann.
AKIM AG becomes part of ODT Group, gaining access to additional resources and synergies.
