Why are centrifuge gearboxes always custom-designed?
Centrifuge applications vary greatly in terms of speed, medium, temperature, and vibration behavior. A standard solution would usually not meet these requirements. Therefore, each centrifuge gearbox is precisely designed for the process.
How important is the vibration behavior in centrifuge drives?
Very important. Vibrations affect not only the lifespan of the drive but also the process quality. AKIM takes vibration behavior into account already in the design.
Are high speeds possible permanently?
Yes. AKIM centrifuge gearboxes are designed for continuous operation at high speeds – provided the design is based on real process data.
Can existing systems be retrofitted?
In many cases, yes. We review existing applications and develop suitable retrofit or replacement solutions.
Are there spare parts for old/older AKIM gearboxes?
