Why are centrifugal gearboxes always custom-designed?
Centrifuge applications differ greatly in terms of speed, medium, temperature and vibration behavior. A standard solution would usually not meet these requirements. That’s why each centrifugal gearbox is engineered exactly to the process.
How important is vibration behavior in centrifugal gearboxes?
Very important. Vibrations affect not only gearbox service life but also process quality. AKIM considers vibration behavior already at the design stage.
Are high speeds possible in continuous operation?
Yes. AKIM centrifugal gearboxes are designed for continuous operation at high speeds — provided the design is based on real process data.
Can existing systems be retrofitted?
In many cases, yes. We analyze existing applications and develop suitable retrofit or replacement solutions.
Are spare parts available for old AKIM gearboxes?
Yes! We supply spare parts even for gearboxes from the 1920s. Our documentation is complete.
