The AKIM cycloid two-disc gearbox (Cycloid Gearbox / Cycloidal Drive) is engineered for applications where durability and reliability take priority. It is particularly suited for heavy-duty drives, conveyor systems and industrial machinery where gearboxes simply have to run — even in harsh environments.

For which applications are two-disc gearboxes particularly suitable?
Two-disc gearboxes are ideal for applications with high torque, continuous duty and harsh operating conditions. Typical uses are conveyor systems, mixers and agitators, as well as heavy-duty rotary and slewing drives where robustness is more important than ultra-high precision.
How do two-disc gearboxes differ from ACBAR eccentric gearboxes?
Two-disc gearboxes are optimized for high torque and reliable continuous operation. ACBAR eccentric gearboxes additionally offer extremely high reduction ratios and very high shock resistance. Which solution is better depends on required ratio, load profile and operating environment.
Are two-disc gearboxes suitable for continuous operation?
Yes. AKIM two-disc gearboxes are designed for continuous duty and feature lifetime lubrication. They have been used for many years in industrial continuous operation.
Is customer-specific adaptation possible?
Yes. In addition to standard sizes, design, ratio, shaft or hollow shaft configuration and interfaces can be adapted to your application — technically sound and economically balanced.
